Have you ever wondered just how the World Health Organization (WHO), an agency of the United Nations, ranks the US health system 37th of 191 countries in its nine-year old report released in 2000?
Despite overall rank of 37th, the WHO report ranked the United States #1 for ‘responsiveness’ or what you and I would call ‘patient care’. Unfortunately, WHO weighted ‘patient care’ at 12.5% of each country’s overall rank. ‘Distribution of Finance’ or, ‘Financial Fairness’ accounted for 25%. You read that right… the WHO report counted ‘financial fairness’ doubly important than ‘patient care’!
I doubt Saudi princes, whose own country ranks 11 spots ahead of the US, will change plans to visit Rochester, Minnesota’s Mayo Clinic and instead visit Colombia or Morocco who rank 22 and 29 overall, but 82 and 151 in patient care (WHO report stats here).
Washington politicians and single payer advocates who are bent on overtaking the American health care system, and mainstream media cite these facts repeatedly. Why do you and I tolerate this flagrant deception?
Tea Parties on Tax Day and 4th of July now spawn into a larger, National Taxpayer Protest set for September 12th in DC, and reflect America on the verge of a tipping point where liberty-loving people say, “Enough, already!”
Get involved! Host your own mini tea party over dinner and ask your guests to replicate. Let’s stop Washington politicians from coming between our families and our doctor. Join me in productive anger! Share your ideas and comments below.
