Michael Freeman
Michael Freeman grew up in Compton, an urban community just south of Los Angeles. While he was attending Georgia Tech, God called him into urban ministry. God led him to join the ministry of World Impact in 1978. Michael served as director of World Impact's ministry in Chester, an urban community in the Philadelphia area from 1988 to 1997. A few years after returning back to Los Angeles, Michael was led by God to launch Elevate Your G.A.M.E., a mentoring program for youth in urban schools and communities. Currently, Elevate Your G.A.M.E. is mentoring approximately 200 urban youth at four sites, Compton High School, Walton Middle School (in Compton), the Northpointe Apartments (in Long Beach) and Harbor Teacher Preparatory Academy (in the Los Angeles Unified School District). In January of 2008, Elevate Your G.A.M.E. will expand to two more schools: Dominguez High School (in Compton) and Cabrillo High School (in Long Beach).
